Seeing Description :
Visit Old Delhi (SNS / SS /IN / DEV / 363) :
Afternoon
visit the 7th city of Delhi, Shahjanabad (Old Delhi), built
by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (1639 - 48 AD) after he
shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi. Visit the
Red Fort built in the year 1648 this imposing fortress has
been constructed in red sand stone and is surrounded by
a huge boundary wall 33 m high. Inside are exquisite palaces
and beautigul gardens. Opposite the Red Fort lies Jama Masjid
(Friday Mosque) made of red sand stone and white marble,
completed in 1656 AD, It is one of the largest mosque in
India. Also visit the Raj Ghat the cremation site of Mahatma
Gandhi. An eternal flame burns there 24 hrs. (Note Red Fort
is closed on Mondays)
Visit New Delhi (SNS / SS /IN / DEV / 364) :
Visit the Humayuns Tomb built in the 16th century by his
wife Haji Begum. This is one of the Mughal Architecture
and is considered to be the predecessor of the Taj Mahal.
Also visit Qutub Minar built by Qutub - ud - din Aibek in
1199 and completed in 1368. The minar is 72.5 m high with
a diameter at the base of 14.4 m and 2.7 m at the top. Drive
past the Rashtrapati Bhawan (Presidents House), Parliament
House, The war memorial India Gate, government secretariat
buildings also visit the Laxmi Narayan Temple.
City Tour of Agra (SNS / SS /IN / AJ / 365) :
The city of Agra which stands on the banks of river Yamuna.
Agra once the capital of the Mughal Emperors is famous for
its beautiful medieval monuments. Visit the Taj Mahal built
in the year 1631 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan in the memory
of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal was completed in 1653 is
the most well preserved and architecturally beautiful monument
in the world . The dome is made of white marble but the
tomb background that works its magic of colours. Later the
Agra Fort, built along side the Yamuna river stretching
almost 2.5 kms. This fort was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar
and Later more buildings were added by Jahangir and Shah
Jehan.
Enroute sightseeing Agra - Jaipur (SNS / SS /IN
/ AJ / 366):
Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri, built by Emperor Akbar in
1569 and abandoned after 15 years due scarcity of water.
See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb
of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other palaces. On arrival
in Jaipur check-in hotel. Afternoon city tour of Jaipur
built in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II. It is
a planned city built with ancient Hindu rules as the colonial
capital of a richly colorful state. In honor of visit of
Prince Albert the whole city was painted pink (the traditional
color of welcome) in 1853. Visit the Pink City of Jaipur.
The city Palace which houses the Royal Residence and museums
with collection of textiles and costumes, armory etc. Also
visit the observatory Jantar Mantar (1728-34) by built by
the astrologer King Jai Singh II. Drive past the Hawa Mahal
or the Palace of Winds.
Amber Fort (SNS / SS /IN / JBL / 367):
Enroute visit the Amber Fort, the ancient capital of the
state until 1728. Visit the Jagmandir or the hall of victory
glittering with mirrors Jai Mahal and the temple of Kali.
Ascend on Elephant back, the hill on which the fort is situated.
